Scenic SundayOur next hike will be on the historic Scenic Drive. This Sunday, June 20th, Scenic Drive will be closed from 6:00am to 11:00am to vehicular traffic. Bring your roller blades, bicycles, baby buggies, or your favorite well worn dusty hiking boots, and join hundreds of your fellow El Pasoans this Sunday and hike across Scenic Drive. This trail is rated easy to moderate. The next Back By Noon Hike will be June 19th. Busy on weekends but still love to get out and hike? Check out the schedule at El Paso Naturally. They have weekly sunrise hikes. Coming Up This SummerMatt and Debbie of Cloudcroft will be leading hikes in their neck of the woods on July 3 and 10. Also, Danny Steel will be leading a hike around Bonita Lake on June 26. Spring 2010 Back by Noon OutingsThe last of the Spring 2010 Back By Noon outings by Southwest Environmental Center will be about Burrowing Owls in Las Cruces. Rio Bosque Wetlands ParkHave you ever been to the Rio Bosque Wetlands Park? No? Well, the Rio Bosque Wetlands Park is a 372-acre City of El Paso park by the Center for Environmental Research & Management located at UTEP. The park is restoring the wetlands and riverside forests that once graced the banks of the Rio Grande in the Paso del Norte region. Music Under The StarsConcerts are Sundays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Chamizal National Memorial located at 800 S. San Marcial Street. Please note that the 4th of July Extravaganza concert on Sunday, July 4th, will take place from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Grills are allowed at the park except in the bowl area (area in front of stage). Please note that glass containers and pets are NOT allowed at the park!
